The third part of the memoirs of the Algerian diplomat and mujahid Rabah Mechhoud

(Paperback version)

In this third part of my memoirs, I review what I lived and what I knew during my work in Jordan, where the events there were frequent, difficult, and full of surprises that are difficult to summarise, including the subject of the setback in the defeat of 5 June 1967, and the important events days before the outbreak of the war, the Israeli surprise attack on the Egyptian planes on the ground of the airport, the deception of the wrong military maps, the Israeli Mossad apparatus and the weapon of rumours, and its spies and spies. The Israeli Mossad and the weapon of rumours, its spies, its glamorous spies, its methods of recruiting agents, and its overthrow of students and diplomats to serve it, while addressing the issues of Jewish spies, and my discovery of them in that period. I also touch on other topics, including: Normalisation with the occupation after the defeat, the Samaritan Jews and the fall of the city of Nablus, my contacts with some Christian sects, the visit of General Globe’s son to me, the farce of the meeting of Arab foreign ministers in Jordan, the visit of some Fatah leaders to me, my meeting with Algerian volunteers at a Fatah training centre, and I talk about before the Black September battle, listening to phone calls of Mr Yasser Arafat, my travel and rescue of young Algerian volunteers, and the declaration of a state of emergency in Jordan.
Then I talk about my participation in the Battle of Dignity in the Jordan Valley, my attendance at lectures in military clothes among Iraqi officers, secret meetings with the Fatah leadership to advise them, Black September, the siege of the Algerian embassy building, calls to stop the fighting, then the Arab Summit Conference in Cairo to end the fighting between Jordan and Palestinian organisations, followed by the issue of saving Yasser Arafat from arrest

Finally, I review the International Red Cross’s deportation to Beirut, my departure from Amman to Algeria and my meeting with President Houari Boumediene
